Dr Michael van der Griend is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who consults, delivers and operates at North Shore Private Hospital. His interests lie in pregnancy management including high risk pregnancies, labour and delivery and infertility and gynaecological issues including cervical dysplasia, infertility, menstrual disorders and menopause.
Dr van der Griend is dedicated to caring for women of all backgrounds and offers a holistic, women's centred approach to Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He cares for each woman in a calm, well informed and supportive manner.
Women should be afforded excellent care, be it on their Obstetric journey or for Gynaecological matters. For over 23 years Dr van der Griend has experienced a wonderful rapport with his patients and feels he is an effective listener which helps him to understand each women's individual needs.
In his practice he works together with Jane, who is a motivated and caring midwife. Her positive, warm personality is an additional support to both patients and Dr van der Griend. Jan is also a bright and bubbly part of the team and has years of experience in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology field as a medical secretary.
Personally, Dr van der Griend is a father and now a grandfather to four grown children and one grandson. He enjoys cycling, keeping fit and spending time with his wife and family.
