Supporting Parkinson’s disease

Apr 10, 2017

This April, North Shore Private Hospital is supporting World Parkinson’s Day on Tuesday 11th of April. Specifically, we’re supporting Pause 4 Parkinsons with Shake It Up Foundation (who partner with internationally based, Michael J Fox Foundation) to raise funds and awareness about treatments, ongoing vital research and to ultimately find a cure for those living with or caring for those living with Parkinson’s disease.

Parkinson’s disease is the second most common neurological disease in Australia after dementia. It’s a disease that affects an estimated 70,000 people with 32 Australians being diagnosed daily. It is a slowly progressive neurologic condition characterised by physical (motor) and non-motor symptoms.

North Shore Private Hospital staff and our community will be encouraged to support the research Shake It Up are doing by donating or helping raise awareness. Let’s shake up how we support such vital research by coming together to find a cure.
