After Baby Support

These classes are scheduled throughout the week and are conducted by an experienced physiotherapist. Call (02) 8425 3466 to make an appointment. The class is designed for women who have had either vaginal or caesarean section birth. Exercise will help to increase your feeling of physical and mental wellbeing. It is important to regain strength and tone in those muscles that have been affected by pregnancy and labour. It is recommended that you avoid unsupervised, vigorous exercising for the first three months after having a baby. Choose activities that you enjoy such as walking and consult with your obstetrician before recommencing heavy exercise sessions.

This service is for newborns to 12 month olds. The service offers support and guidance with a lactation consultant and Mothercraft Nurse. The service covers:

  • Infant feeding
  • Sleep and settling
  • Adjusting to a new family
  • Understanding premature babies
  • Changing behaviours
  • Multiple births
  • Routines and rhythms
  • Emotional wellbeing
  • Returning to work
  • Travelling with a baby
