If you have a caesarean section, you will be placed in one of our double rooms with a single bed so that we can provide you with the best possible care following your surgery. The length of time you remain in the single room is influenced by several factors. These rooms now also have luxurious recliners providing overnight accommodation for your partner. Once it is safe to move you, we will do so to a Parenting Suite with a double bed or a Deluxe Parenting Suite. This is dependent on room availability and our Customer Relationship Officer will discuss these options with you.

Our well baby nursery is equipped with baby bathing facilities, nappies, wraps and formula should you require it. Our nursery, provides a spacious area where we are able to supervise you bathing your baby and where some of our education classes take place such as bathing talks. The nursery is available for your use overnight if you choose.

The Special Care Nursery at North Shore Private Hospital is a Level 2 nursery that is able to provide care for babies born from 32 weeks. The Special Care Nursery Staff are all highly qualified registered nurses and midwives who specialise in the care of babies requiring extended specialist care. Six paediatricians are on staff, one of whom is on-call twenty-four hours a day.
