Dr McCaffrey completed his medical degree at The University of Notre Dame, prior to completing a Masters of Surgery at The University of Sydney, and he continues to teach medical students and junior doctors through his position as an Adjunct Lecturer.
He completed his Obstetric & Gynaecological training through Royal North Shore Hospital, focusing on high-risk obstetric care and management as well as advanced laparoscopic surgery. He also gained further minimally-invasive gynaecological surgical experience working as a fellow at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He currently holds a public appointment as a Staff Specialist at RNSH, and is a VMO at North Shore Private Hospital.
He is able to see new referrals within the week at North Shore Private Hospital and is happy to bulk bill pensioners/concession cards and healthcare staff – he enjoys a collaborative approach with GPs with patient care.
In his spare time he is a volunteer surf-life saver at Bronte SLSC, provides medical care to the homeless through Street Side Medics and is a Medical Officer with the Australian Defence Force Army Reserves.
