Ramsay Health Care is honoring its commitment to research, with 17 new projects receiving funding in the Northern Sydney Local Health District.

As part of the Ramsay Teaching and Research Grants Scheme, more than $800,000 in grants was directed to the Royal North Shore Hospital campuses this year, which are designed to improve patient care and health outcomes.

North Shore Private Hospital Chief Executive Officer Richard Ryan said overall, more than $10 million had been provided to support research and teaching on the campus over the last 18 years.

“As a Ramsay hospital, North Shore Private is proud to be part of an organisation that cares for our community and we acknowledge the vital role research plays in improving the health and wellbeing of our patients,” Mr Ryan said.

“I congratulate the talented researchers who’ve been successful in receiving these Ramsay Teaching and Research Grants and look forward to hearing about the progress of their work.”

The 17 projects will investigate a range of health challenges, from heart disease and mental health issues to spinal cord injuries, pain management and cancer.

In thanking Ramsay Health Care for its generous contribution, a Royal North Shore Hospital spokesperson said the funding would assist its dedicated teams to increase the impact of their research.
