North Shore Private launches newly renovated birthing suites

North Shore Private hospital’s newly renovated birthing suites official launch event was held on 31st January 2019 with special guests including Sydney Roosters halfback Cooper Cronk and Fox Sports presenter Tara Rushton.

It was the first time the powerhouse couple, who are each highly respected professionals in their own right, joined forces for a specific cause. Following the birth of their son Lennox at North Shore Private Hospital in 2018, the couple said they valued the personalised care and respect for privacy they received from maternity staff during their stay.

Richard Ryan, CEO of North Shore Private Hospital said “We were really excited to have Cooper and Tara join us to officially open the elegant refurbishment which has been undertaken in the maternity unit at North Shore Private Hospital.”

The event also included a charity element to support parents’ emotional wellbeing with an inspiring and moving speech from the Gidget Foundation Chair, Kara Nicholls. Ms Nicholls also announced she will auction a Sydney Roosters jersey signed by Cooper Cronk on the day to raise funds for the not-for-profit Gidget House now located on-site at North Shore Private.

Ms Nicholls said “North Shore Private is only one of two hospitals currently running the Gidget Foundation Australia Emotional Wellbeing Program, a screening program which enables expectant women to partake in an antenatal emotional health check.”

“We know first-hand the joys and challenges that come with pregnancy and parenthood. This is why everyone involved with the Gidget Foundation is grateful and thankful to Richard, his team and North Shore Private for not only their support, but for recognising the importance of emotional wellbeing for new parents and the need to provide them with support and services” said Ms Nicholls.

North Shore Private Hospital welcomes more than 2,500 babies each year. The maternity team takes pride in patient safety and wellness, as well as being able to accommodate individual needs through pregnancy, birth, postnatal care and through the early stages of parenting and family life together.
