Dr Barin is a Cardiologist in the Department of Cardiology, Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital, Sydney. His clinical and academic interests include heart arrhythmias, pacemakers, hypertension, risk profiling in ischaemic heart disease, and arterial analysis techniques. He has a private clinical practice based in Chatswood. He is Clinical Associate Professor at Macquarie University, and Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Engineering and IT at UTS Sydney.
Having graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney in 1979, Dr Barin was a Fellow of the National Heart Foundation of Australia between 1985 and 1987, and undertook postgraduate studies in London, England. Dr Barin holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Epidemiology from Sydney University. Dr Barin is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is also a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand.
