Dr Kevin Hellestrand is a Cardiologist with an interest in Electrophysiology.

Dr Kevin Hellestrand has been in private practice as a Cardiologist for 25 years. He has experience in catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmias, coronary angiography and non-invasive cardiac assessment including the use of exercise stress testing, 24 hour ambulatory Holter monitoring and 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring and echocardiography. Dr Hellestrand spent three years at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London as Senior Cardiology Registrar and Research Fellow, where he completed his PhD in Cardiac Electrophysiology (1980-1983). He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, a Fellow of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (USA) and a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology. He has been a co-author of more than 50 journal articles, reviews and book chapters. Dr Hellestrand is currently in private practice based in Hornsby and is a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal North Shore Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital and the Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Apart from Cardiology, Dr Hellestrand is very interested in scuba diving and underwater photography. He gives lectures to the Navy Medical Staff on the cardiovascular effects of scuba diving and has published a couple of books on underwater photography.

Cardiac Electrophysiology, managing arrhythmias and catheter ablation
