Dr Manu Mathur graduated from the University of Sydney in 1989. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery before training in Cardio-thoracic Surgery and gaining his Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2000. He spent the next two and a half years in cardio-thoracic fellowship posts overseas. These posts included Oxford UK, Harvard Medical School; Boston, USA and Mount Sinai Medical Centre - New York City, USA.
Dr Mathur commenced his consultant cardiothoracic practice in 2002 at Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. Three major interests include;
- Valve Surgery (mitral valve repair, valve replacement, re-operative valve surgery);
- Aortic surgery (aneurysm, dissection, arch surgery);
- Lung Surgery (Lung Cancer, thoracoscopy).
