Dr Manu Mathur is a cardiothoracic surgeon at the North Shore Hospital campus.

Dr Manu Mathur graduated from the University of Sydney in 1989. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in General Surgery before training in Cardiothoracic Surgery and gaining his Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2000. He spent the next two and a half years in cardiothoracic fellowship posts overseas. These posts included Oxford UK, Harvard Medical School; Boston, USA and Mount Sinai Medical Centre - New York City, USA.

Dr Mathur commenced his consultant cardiothoracic practice in 2002 at Royal North Shore Hospital and North Shore Private Hospital. Three major interests include;

  • Valve Surgery (mitral valve repair, valve replacement, re-operative valve surgery);
  • Aortic surgery (aneurysm, dissection, arch surgery);
  • Lung Surgery (Lung Cancer, thoracoscopy).
