Dr Tristan Barnes is a medical oncologist with an interest in thoracic (lung) and breast cancers.

Dr Tristan Barnes is a medical oncologist with an interest in thoracic (lung) and breast cancers. She graduated from medicine at the University of New South Wales in 2006 with first class honours. She completed her general medical training in 2010 at Prince of Wales Hospital and went on to do medical oncology at Royal North Shore, St George and Prince of Wales Hospitals, completing her training in 2015. She did a clinical trials fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in 2016. She then went to Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada to complete a clinical research fellowship in Thoracic and Breast Cancer with world renowned mentors.

She has an interest in clinical trials and her research and publications are in the efficacy and value of novel drugs, the use of patient reported outcome questionnaires, costs involved with new investigations to detect lung cancer resistance and extended hormone therapy in breast cancer.

She has a compassionate, holistic approach; is an excellent communicator and is devoted to personalised patient care.
