Dr Jonathan Negus has a wealth of Orthopaedic experience from over 15 years of surgical training with highly respected surgeons from Australia and Europe.
Dr Negus has been awarded higher degrees from the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and the University of Sydney. He has worked and trained both in Sydney and in London, with visitations and fellowships across the United Kingdom and Europe to enhance his specialist training.
Dr Negus’ career in Orthopaedics has a strong academic and research focus. He won the Foundation for Surgery Scholarship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (2010) and the AOA Registrars Association prize for best registrar research during his PhD at the University of Sydney.
Part of his PhD thesis was to examine the use of novel technology in the rehabilitation of patients after knee replacement surgery. He has contributed chapters for books, published in prestigious journals, presented his research findings at conferences worldwide and is an invited reviewer for several of the major Orthopaedics journals.
His regular teaching engagements at the University of Sydney, working with junior medical officers, allied health staff and medical students, offer welcome opportunities to pass on his extensive knowledge and enthusiasm for his chosen field.
Dr Jonathan Negus is committed to surgical excellence and clinical care that is optimized and individualised to each patient’s specific needs. He continues to develop both himself and his field through ongoing quality research and enquiry.
Dr Negus operates at the North Shore Private Hospital. He consults at North Shore Private Hospital and North Sydney Sports Medicine Centre in St Leonard’s as well as at Pitt St in Sydney’s CBD. He is very happy to take enquiries from General practitioners and physiotherapists.
