Dr Vikram Puttaswamy is Head of Department of Vascular and Renal Transplant Surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital. He has been a consultant vascular and renal transplant surgeon at North Shore Private and Royal North Shore Hospitals for over 20 years, specialising in major and complex endovascular and vascular surgical procedures. Dr Puttaswamy is a Fellow in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He trains surgeons across the ANZ and APAC regions in complex endovascular arterial treatments and has set up the North Shore Campus Vascular Surgery Centre of Excellence.
He has an interest in vascular research and the development of arterial conduits and endovascular stents as well as vascular trauma surgery. He is also the Chair of the NSW RACS Trauma Committee and member of the NSW RACS State Committee.
