Prostate Cancer

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer affecting men in our community. The management of patients with prostate cancer requires a coordinated multidisciplinary approach.

Regular multidisciplinary team meetings take place at North Shore Private Hospital where cases are discussed by a group of specialists including Urologist, Radiation and Medical Oncologist and Pathologists, as well as a Clinical Nurse Co-ordinator to select the most appropriate treatment for individual patients. All members of the Urology department at North Shore Private Hospital are equipped with the latest techniques and equipment to best treat all stages of prostate cancer.

Endourology

North Shore Private is equipped with the latest endoscopic equipment, as well as the latest camera and visual equipment allowing minimally invasive access to all parts of the urinary tract to enable many urological conditions such as stones and tumours to be treated.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Minimally invasive surgery is now common in most branches of surgery. Laparoscopic Urology is now an established sub speciality in Urology allowing for surgery to be carried out on the kidney, adrenal gland, ureter, bladder and prostate which apart from the obvious cosmetic advantages, reduces the hospital stay and allows for early return to work.

Urological cancers

North Shore Private Hospital offers access to a wide range of services for urological cancers including a Urological Cancer Coordinator, radiotherapy services and a chemotherapy service. Urological cancers are managed using a team approach to improve the outcome.
